I have only recently started to buy from Doki Doki, these are some of the best cosplays i have ever received when thinking of quality, but there are for sure some downsides. I love the colors, and I think it really does capture Madame Pings look. I will say that the front bottom of the dress does lay slightly funny but did not take away from the appearance in my opinion. the neck area is really hard to fit your head through but I was able to do so. I also ordered a 2XL and my waist is about a 32-34in and I struggled with it feeling too tight. I did put shapewear under it and that made it fit a bit better. The hips slits are very high so be aware you may want tights underneath for modesty or sticky undergarments.
It got here sooner than I expected!! Wearing this Fantasy Cosplay made my convention experience truly magical!!!
I was a little worried about getting this cosplay because of other reviews that mention not being able to get their head through the neck hole. THE ZIPPER UNHOOKS COMPLETELELY AT THE BOTTOM, MAKING IT EASY TO SLIP ON AND OFF. I had absolutely no issues getting my head through once I unzipped it completely like a jacket. I did need a second person to help me do the zipper again. I am disappointed in the sizing becauseI originally ordered a size XL, thinking I could just squeeze in, but it was a few centimeters too small around the waist and underbust area. Dokidoki was very kind to help me with a partial exchange, but once I got the size 2XL, it still didn't fit. It took 20 minutes to zip up the side, and then the zipper broke. I double checked the size chart and all my measurements fit in the 2 XL range. Luckily, I was able to get quick alterations done, adding a panel of stretchy velvet fabric next to the zipper to extend it. The sheer, flowy fabric pieces were not hemmed but it didn't subtract from the look. All the props looked high quality, though I had problems with the safety pin breaking on one.
Over all, I give it 4 out of 5 stars, mainly because of the sizing issue. It was perfect for the first day of my convention, I got lots of compliments on it. Overall, I would recommend it! :)
I love it, especially the accessories as they are made of metal. The arm sleeves r my favourite and look exactly like in the photo: shimmery and flows like water. Wonderful cosplay! Though, it would’ve been nice if the head piece was double sided with the design, you can see the making imperfections on one side compared to the other.
For those who plan to buy this, the dress is not very forgiving if you have wide hips, but it will still fit (with some creasing).
In terms of material, it was evident that the seams in the fabric ran easily, so when i put the pins in from the accessories, the fabric ran and i was a bit sad but it isn’t noticeable but BE CAREFUL.
The way the fabric cascades is beautiful but all the edges on the sheer fabrics are UNFINISHED so you need to be careful about snagging it on stuff. Please also note that like a lot of other SR genshin cosplays this DOES NOT STRETCH. 2 more stars were taken off as the item I received was made too small to fit my head through and dokidoki was entirely unhelpful when I contacted them about it.
My measurements fit a size M even after they updated the sizing chart during presale and the actual body of the dress fits but I have to use A LOT of force to get my head through the neck (read: this was PAINFUL, left my head pounding and left a lot of makeup and bits of skin smeared onto the inside of the collar) and it was even more difficult to get it off afterwards, even with the back zipper fully undone. Definitely a poor design choice that the upper back doesn't fully unzip into separate parts. Dokidoki said they would tell the factory about it but refused to compensate me in any way even though my head circumference is 21 inches (53.34 cm) which isn't considered even remotely a large head circumference for an adult female. They had nothing to say about this and their reasoning for no compensation was that nobody else has had this issue so therefore this isn't a flaw with the item?? They at first suggested I size up but then later advised that size M was correct for me. If the back unzipped all the way down like a regular finished zipper this wouldn't have been an issue but now I will have to spend time/money to alter this as returns are always at the buyer's expense.
Photos were taken right when I tried it on for the first time, where the cosplay is sitting around my head is the point where I could pull it down with a reasonable amount of force; getting it completely over my head was painful even before it reached my ears and getting it off afterwards was excruciating. I am gutted because it's an otherwise beautiful cosplay. You can see they opted to just sew some fabric over the bottom of the zipper rather than finishing it properly, which is extremely disappointing for an SR quality cosplay.
